A newly formed group called South Fraser Action Group is inviting the media and public to take part in a bus and boat tour to show impacts of the South Fraser Perimeter Road project firsthand.
The five-hour tour takes place Friday, Nov. 20 starting at 9:45 a.m. Participants are to meet at the Ladner Exchange on Harvest Drive for the first part of the tour, which includes a two-hour tour of the route of the new highway through agricultural land and established neighbourhoods.
The bus will then take participants to the New Westminster Quay for a three-hour boat cruise on the Fraser River escarpment to the Golden Ears Bridge and back to New Westminster. A bus will take participants back to Ladner.
The cost is $70 per person without lunch. Participants can get a $15 catered lunch on-board or bring a bag lunch. Cash or cheque payments are needed by Tuesday, Nov. 17.
